What we offer you
Tax-free lump sum payout of up to R10 million
After your death a cash lump sum will be paid to your nominated beneficiaries, ensuring that they are financially supported into the future. Your life cover policy covers death as a result of natural causes or an accident, unless it specifically states otherwise.
Direct application
When you apply for direct cover with Liberty, everything is done over the phone in a simple one-step process – no application forms or full medicals required.
Hassle-free cover
This cover is straightforward and easy-to-understand and is based on individual risk profiles.
Flexibility
Life Cover direct from Liberty offers you the flexibility to apply to adjust your insurance as your needs change – whether you’re tying the knot, becoming a parent or retiring.
Unlimited beneficiaries
The number of beneficiaries you choose is entirely up to you. You can also change them whenever you like and decide what percentage of the lump sum payout each of them will receive after death.
What’s not covered?
You won’t be covered if you take your own life or die due to self-harm within the first 24 months of your cover, or if you are injured while breaking the law or while intentionally exposing yourself to war or war-like activities. You also won’t be covered for any exclusions outlined in your policy.
What about HIV tests?
We need you to have an HIV test within 90 days of your cover start date. If you don’t have the test or if your results come back reactive, you’ll only be covered for accidental causes of death. Remember, our blood tests are free and our nurses will come to you.
Who can apply?
Any South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 65 with a bar-coded ID and a bank account may apply for cover. You must be taking out the cover for yourself.
